Let me introduce myself… I’m Gema, a hairdresser born and bred in Coventry. I’m a proud mum of two children and three gorgeous furry boys—Prince, Kobi, and Duggee.
I’ve been involved in dog rescue for around 15 years, spending 10 of those in a very hands-on role with Sukis Canine Rescue. Rescue isn’t just something I do—it’s my passion. Over the years, I’ve fostered more than 100 dogs, giving them the care, love, and second chance they deserve.
Now, I feel ready to take the next step and do even more. My mission is to open a rescue centre dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs who find themselves abandoned or unwanted. It’s a huge task, but I’m ready to fight for what I believe in.
I’m lucky to have some incredible people ready to take this journey with me—and together, I truly believe we’ll succeed. But help from the public is desperately needed too

" I have built a life around my deep love for dogs, working as a dog walker and sitter for nearly eight years. My experience goes beyond the everyday, having supported a rescue where ive helped dogs socialise and build their confidence before they have gone on to find their forever homes. It was during this time i adopted my third dog Desmond"
"I find joy in the simple, beautiful moments like sunrise and sunset walks with my boys, exploring stunning places like the Peak District and Wales, and capturing those memories through photos.
Looking ahead, my goal of working with Gema is to create a safe haven for dogs that are unwanted, abandoned or have been failed. I have compassion and determination and am driven by my belief that every dog deserves a second chance because, in my eyes, dogs truly are better than humans"
