Adopted Dogs

When we opened New Leash Of Life  Dog Rescue back in April, the very first dog through our doors was Major, a beautiful young German Shepherd, just under a year old.

If we're honest, it was a daunting time. We were only just starting out, with minimum foster homes lined up  and especially none suitable for a big strong dog. Then one of our incredible, experienced foster carers stepped forward and changed everything.

Major had very little socialisation, almost no training, and was a lot of hard work. Major was spending 14 hour days alone in a kitchen. He was causing destruction to the house through boredom and anxiety. His foster dedicated a whole month to him, giving him the time, patience, structure and love he needed to begin his new life.

In May 2026 Major went to his Forever home and his new family absolutely adore him, and he loves them just as much. They're continuing his training, and when I seen him to complete his adoption, I was honestly speechless. He was like a completely different dog. The progress he's made is incredible.

Major will always hold a special place in our hearts as the very first dog to come into New Leash of Life Dog Rescue, and our very first adoption success 💙

When we had just opened we received a message from a lovely family who were searching for a dog that would fit perfectly into their home with children and cats. As soon as we knew Daisy was coming into our care, we arranged for them to meet—and from the very first meeting, it was clear that it was meant to be. It really was love at first sight for everyone involved.

The family had planned to bring Daisy home over the weekend, but she needed to come into rescue on sooner. Thanks to one of our incredible, experienced foster families, we were able to make it work. Daisy spent a few days with them before beginning the next chapter of her life. A huge thank you to our amazing foster for being her safe stop-gap and helping make this happy ending possible.

Daisy was living in an outdoor kennel and wasn't receiving the interaction and care she deserved. Barely walked and had shut down to life. There was a real sadness in her eyes. Back in May 2026 Daisy went to her forever home, and we're delighted to say she has settled in beautifully. We know she's going to be surrounded by all the love, care and attention she truly deserves. She's being treated like the princess she is.

My heart bursts with happiness and sinks with sadness all at the same time.

Skye came into rescue 2–3 weeks ago and came straight into foster with me and my gang. 

Sadly, she needed to come into rescue following the passing of her owner. Although this was a huge loss for her, her resilience has been incredible. She came in, stole our hearts, and fitted in as though she'd always been here.

I have such a soft spot for Staffies… it's the connection through their eyes. They can literally reach your soul. ❤️

It's so refreshing to welcome a dog into rescue who has been so loved and cared for, with no physical or emotional trauma. Just an open heart, full of trust and love in abundance.

She is the sweetest girl, and I knew only the most perfect home would do.

Well… the perfect home found her!

Her new family are experienced with the breed and have also recently experienced loss, so together they'll heal and find comfort in each other. 

She could easily have stayed with me, but I knew she was needed elsewhere, so I let her go and begin her new chapter.

Since coming into foster, Rolo has had some further assessments, which have helped us understand exactly what kind of home will help him thrive. He has also been neutered and vaccinated.

Rolo is looking for a pet-free home with dog savy children aged 14 and over. He isn't an aggressive dog at all, but he's a big, strong lad who could easily knock over younger children without meaning to.

When it comes to other dogs, Rolo simply hasn't had the socialisation he needed. Because of this, he can become worried and overwhelmed when he sees dogs out on walks. His fear often comes across as barking, lunging and pulling towards them, but we think this is something that can be improved with the right guidance and training.

We're looking for someone with the time, patience and experience to help Rolo build his confidence around other dogs. He doesn't need to be best friends with every dog he meets—he just needs someone willing to help him learn that he can share the world with them without feeling the need to react.

Despite this, Rolo is an incredibly lovely boy with so much love to give. He's affectionate, full of character, and has so much potential in the right home. We know his perfect family is out there—someone who will see beyond his current challenges and give him the chance he truly deserves. He needs a strong and stable environment that will allow him to continue enjoying his love for water and rural walks

Mini dauschunds– A Beautiful Mother and Daughter Looking for Their Forever Home💙

Dotty (4 years old) and Luna (2 years old) are a lovely mother-and-daughter duo who are sadly looking for a new home through no fault of their own. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for the family but sadly it's for the best. 

Ideally, we'd love for Dotty and Luna to stay together, as they have always lived together and share a lovely bond. However, if the perfect homes came along separately, we believe they would cope well living apart.

Both girls are affectionate, friendly, and full of love. They have lived with children and are used to family life. When meeting new children, they can be a little unsure at first, so introductions should be calm and sensible. Because of this, we feel the right match would depend on the children's age, confidence, and experience around dogs.

They could also potentially live with another friendly dog, provided introductions are done carefully.

Both girls are neutered

We're looking for owners who will give them the time, patience, and love they deserve as they settle into a new home. They have so much affection to give and will make wonderful companions for the right family.

Mabel has now been with us in rescue for just over a week, and today she had a trip to the vets for her vaccinations.

At our rescue, we make sure every dog receives their essential veterinary care while they're with us, so Mabel was booked in for her routine vaccinations.

We're pleased to say she was an absolute superstar! 🌟⭐ ✨ 

She was so calm and well-behaved throughout her appointment, happily letting the vet listen to her heart and carry out her examination. She even seemed to enjoy all the attention and fuss she received! We're incredibly proud of how well she handled everything.

Mabel is continuing to settle into rescue and is still undergoing assessment, so applications are not yet open for her. We'll continue to share updates on her progress, and we'll let everyone know as soon as she's ready to start looking for her forever home.
